Well, you could always download Xvid4PSP 5.0. That program is a one-step converter for MKV to AVI or MKV to MP4. It has a bunch of other formats supported too, and it does everything flawlessly, with your subtitles and everything. And, it’s free! Use it for all your MKV to other format needs!

God… I hate .mkv; I’m not gonna watch this until they make a .avi version…

By the way, the reason I prefer avi to mkv is because… well, I hate soft subs. Hard subs are the best… just because… I dunno, they’re less complicated

sooo? why dont you use a program like total video converter and convert the video into something you can use, i converted it to .mp4 and i added it to my ipod.

Swallowtail, it shouldn’t matter to you if it’s avi or mkv. Download the CCCP at http://www.cccp-project.net/. After install you can open the mkv with media player classic that installs along with the CCCP. The main reason people download the xvid compared to x264 is due to them having a slower computer that can’t play x264 files.
