Demonbane put on hiatus

Yesy-Fansubs’s version of Demonbane is now placed on indefinate hiatus.
Too many of its fans are nitpicky losers who whine about problems that exist only in their own imaginations. The sheer number of them, unsurpassed in any project I’ve seen over the past four years, has caused key staff members lose heart and seriously consider total retirement from fansubbing altogether. “Why?” we ask, “Why should we put in hours of effort when we’re rewarded not with accolades or even indifference, but niggling complaints?” As it stands, it would be more rewarding for us to finish the episodes and promptly delete them than to continue to publish them. But rather than abandon the group to the winds, it was decided to place the project on standby until the memory of this dipshittery has faded, and hopefully another group comes along to do speedsubs that will draw off the whiny loser demographic. The project is not dropped. I repeat, the project is not dropped. It will be resumed at an unspecified point in the future.

I know it is unreasonable to expect applause and fame. That’s not what this is about. This is about the fact that there are so many self important idiots out there who think we’d LOVE to hear their opinion that its simply no longer worth our time to continue.

Update

Its been a while, a couple of updates have just happened though.

First the CMS has finally been updated from Mambo to its sucessor, Joomla. I hope the update was sucessful but if any problems do turn up, please report them to me in the board. In the next update I hope to finally bring a new site template and board template. As usual they will follow my “minimalistic” taste but thats how its always been.

In other news… If you’ve been checking on the forums, Misora has hinted that we’ll begin fansubbing again soon. No further details about what is coming up, but we’re working on it.

-Ryvis

PS: Did you read the story by TDH? And you all thought I was wack.

Dead or Alive?

To quote StarFreeze “I like girl. KE KE!”

But seriously, a lot of people have been asking where has YesY been? Or rather not many people at all, but I would like to think that deep down people would hope that we would come back someday. Anyhow I’ll attempt to explain what actually happened in these last couple months. Some of this may be shocking, some of it may be unbelievable, but it’s quite the story to say the least.

The story begins a couple months ago at the start of September. After recently releasing Oku-sama wa Joshi Kousei a mysterious e-mail was sent to Ryvis asking if he wished to meet some hot young Japanese girls. Now Ryvis being the wise user of the internet looked at this message and dismissed it as bogus. However when Ryvis had recieved this e-mail he wasn’t truly sure that it was bogus so he asked Misora about this e-mail. Misora being the devious one that he is told Ryvis that it was indeed bogus and secretly pocketed the information himself.

The following day Misora e-mailed back this mysterious person and found out that there were indeed hot young Japanese girls that wanted him and not just one, but three girls. Quite shocked at the possibility of meeting with not just one, but three hot young Japanese girls he replied saying that he would like this meeting to begin as soon as possible. Of course Misora being the busy person he is was currently going to school and preparing for exams and such, but one couldn’t pass up an opportunity like this. He informed kixor (his neighbor) to take over for his tests and to “become Misora” for a while, while he was off meeting these hot young Japanese girls.

Meanwhile this mysterious person who I later found out to be a man called Suteki Daiben was actually one who dealt with hot young Japanese girls, but it was quite illegal. He snuck these young Japanese females into the States through a mariad of sneaky ways. Sometimes he’d pass them off as live dolls and have them shipped to the States or he’d make some phony documents to sneak them in. This Mr. Daiben was very good at what he did and knew his way very well around the internet and could be able to track peoples internet history. He would look for people who had both money and were interested in Japanese girls. Ryvis was such one of his targets, given that he was in Canada and Mr. Daiben had at the time wanted to expand into the Canadian business he was one of the first targets. However recieveing an e-mail from Misora who was from the States did suprise him, potential clients were always in his interest. From what I hear the three girls that he had promised Misora at that time were being flown in from Japan under the disguise that they were needed as models in the United States. Although Mr. Daiben had tried this ploy before without hitch, this time there was some actual trouble and the government had placed watchers on these three girls.

When the time came for Misora to actually meet with these three girls, the meeting was scheduled to take place innocently at a restaurant located near where he lived. It had been about a week and a half since the e-mail had been sent to him informing that he would be meeting these three girls, and in that time he had been trying to accumulate money to pay for this meeting and the following events. Some of the money he took from his savings account and another part he got from selling various items around his house, in all it would take him about ~$96,000 for this entire adventure, but he wouldn’t be knowing of the full cost until much later.

The first meeting went off without much of a hitch, Misora met with Suteki Daiben and was introduced to the ladies who were named Sachiko, Yukari and Ayame. The three were roughly the same age, about 18 or 19 each and all had hoped to come to America for a better life because of the rising costs in Japan. They had been told that if they did what was asked of them for a year, they would be allowed to be set free and do as they so wished. It had costed them each a good sum of money to get smuggled in, but they knew that this would probably be one of the best chances they had at a better life.

Mr. Daiben had requested that for this meeting that it would require $10,000 in cash and Misora was able to barely accumulate this money at this time. The plan was such that they would leave and travel to a local mall where the girls could get some new clothes, then later some dinner and then finally if he so wished he could take them to a hotel. If he chose not to take them to dinner he was to bring them to a mysterious location and they would meet back up the following day. Misora had paid for about a weeks worth of time and what he did in that time was pretty much up to him. After leaving the restaurant, Misora chatted with these three young girls about various things, such as why they were here and what they though of him. As they made their way to the shopping mall, unknown to them a spy had been watching the actions of Mr. Daiben and Misora in a neighboring booth.

Recently the government had been attempting to track down the large amount of illegal smuggling of Japanese girls into the United States and had hunches that Suteki Daiben was one of the biggest if not the biggest smugglers. After talking with the Japanese government they were able to track down Yukari as a target and had watched her movements from when she arrived in the states. They didn’t have solid proof of Mr. Daiben and his smuggling business yet, but they were inching closer to uncovering something that even I couldn’t have seen coming.

Anyhow Misora took the girls to a couple different stores and they were able to pick up some “nicer” clothing from what he said. Some undergarments and tight fitting clothes were chosen to accent their curves, the pictures he says don’t do them justice. And if that’s what he says…those girls must have been quite the whopper from the looks of them. After shopping he took them to an Italian restaurant called Ilanto Benadito (I think) and Misora being the deprived one of sorts did inded take them to a hotel. What happened afterwords, well…I think you know.

Truthfully things were looking pretty good at this point, but Ryvis at the time had been looking for Misora, but all he found out was that he was running around in circles. Kixor kept saying different things and making all these excuses, but Ryvis felt something was amiss, so he pressured Kixor to tell what really happened.

Kixor spilled the beans that Misora was actually meeting up with these three ladies and that he’d be gone for a while. Ryvis of course was furious that Misora would go behind his back, but somewhat jealous that he didn’t think of taking the deal himself, suffice to say he knew deep down that he didn’t have the money to afford the meeting.

After returning from his adventures Misora was quite pleased at the money he spent and even though he had gone behind Ryvis’s back to do so, he did call him up and told him about what had happened. As anyone could think Ryvis was quite mad at Misora, but hearing that this meeting had actually worked, he enquired about future meetings and if he could you know “join in” Being the good chum Misora was, he said sure and the next time he had a hankering to hook up with some more hot young Japanese girls he would tell Ryvis.

Unknownst to Misora at the time however, with his constantly hanging out with Yukari, he had been flagged by the government as an accomplice and he was soon going to run into some trouble with the law.

The following week the government sent an agent to Misora to ask some questions about Yukari and her relationship to him. Misora of course was floored that the government wanted to know about him and Yukari, and not wanting to reveal that he had paid for a meeting he blurted out some lies and tried twist the truth. Not too sure of if what he said had worked Misora called up Kixor and told him that things might be a little hot soon with the government after him.

Ryvis at the same time however had already contacted Mr. Daiben to see if he too could secure a meeting with just one hot young Japanese girl. But he couldn’t seem to be able to contact Mr. Daiben, it seemed that Mr. Daiben had been taken into custody because of the government. However because Ryvis was in Canada, the United States did not have jurisdiction in persuing a Canadian and had to only notify the Canadian government that one of their citizens had attempted to contact an illegal smuggler for what they though to be a potential illegal smuggling.

A couple of weeks passed and Ryvis began to work on improving the site in his free time and took down the site for some maitenance in October. At the same Misora had forgotten about the agent asking him about Yukari and had been thinking about a trip to Japan to get to the source of hot young Japanese girls, as the girls had revealed to him, there were many such girls who were attempting to smuggle into America and Misora believed that he would be able to trick them into going with him.

Misora saved up some money and contacted Ryvis to see if he wanted to come along, but Ryvis wasn’t too sure of that since he had been pretty busy recently doing work on the site and his own studies. Thus Misora decided to put this travel off until later. By this time the government had found Mr. Daiben an illegal smuggler and had tried to get him to confess who else was involved with his smuggling ring.

By digging through their records the government was somehow able to place that Misora was an accomplice to Mr. Danbei although he wasn’t and they planned to gather evidence against Misora that he too was smuggling Japanese girls into the States. Misora having done some research into taking a trip into Japan made it seem very suspicious to the government, and his further contact with Ryvis made them more suspicious of Ryvis as well.

At this time, I (TDH) had been hearing some wild stories involving Misora and Japanese girls from Ryvis, but I didn’t have the full story at the time. Oddly enough bhound was visiting the area that I lived in and I relayed these stories to him. Bhound was qutie impressed called up Misora to see if he could hitch a ride with him to go to Japan if he was going to do so.

Misora spend a little while thinking about it and then said okay and he and Bhound started planning a trip to Japan. A couple weeks later they were well on their way to Japan. However the government was now ready to press charges against Misora, and had sent agents to take him into custody, but they failed and Misora was able to board the plane to Japan. Kixor noticed strange activity at his neighbors house and figured out that the government was after Misora and not sure of who to conatct, told Ryvis about the current situation who relayed this information to me.

I went on IRC and contacted a couple people to see if they knew what to do in a situation like this and they told me that to clear such charges would require a lot of work and some a ton of paperwork. Indaliceo and King_Arthor were around at the time, although somewhat preoccupied with playing Maplestory and I asked them if they could help back up Misora’s story that he wasn’t an illegal smuggler, which they agreed to do.

I called up Misora on his cell while he was in Japan and told him about what has happening currently, and he wired me some money to be able to pay for the clearing of charges and paperwork. In total it took roughly $23,000 to clear the charges and we also had to bribe a couple judges to clear some paperwork.

Of course all this clearing of charges and paperwork made me look suspicous as well, so I contacted I couple friends in Texas, New York and Arkansas to hide out while the government was going after targets. These traveling expenses were quite costly, but Misora being the great person he is, I couldn’t bear to have him be put into jail for something he didn’t truly commit.

Throughout November and the early part of December I was moving around the States running paperwork through the system and talking with others about getting this stuff done. At the time Misora decided to stay in Japan and extended his travel VISA, but bhound had to return since he had prior engagements to attend to. Ryvis however being the great computer whiz he is, contacted a couple friends and they were able to hack into the records database to see what charges and evidence the government had against Misora.

Ryvis relayed this information to me while I was in New Jersey which at the time was about the time I had a found a judge that I could be able to bribe to clear paperwork with. Taking this new found knowledge and the money Misora had wired me, I was able to clear some of the charges that were on Misora.

Soon however, things became much more complicated. The judge that I had found was actually under review by the government for taking bribes and by the middle of December he had been taken in for questioning. Bewildered I was unsure of what would be happening soon so I contacted Buey for some help in these matters.

Buey sent Robot to clear the charges on the Judge, but he wasn’t very successful in doing so. He told me that if I wished to clear the records I might have to go destroy a a data center located in North Dakota. Well I considered that since I was already this deep into the situation, I might as well go all the way and I asked some friends for some fake documents to be able to purchase ingredients for explosives and other technology that would be helpful in sneaking in and destroying this data center.

A week passed and I had accumulated a small arms supply, just enough to outfit a team of four. Ryvis and bhound having heard that I needed to destroy this data center, had volunteered to help out. Now I just needed one more member to help in this situation. I called up Kixor, and he gladly offered being the neighbor of Misora.

Together we planned to meet up in North Dakota in a city close to the data center and make some more plans there. As time drew closer I began packing my supplies, but in my packing, I discovered that I had somehow been given a wrong shipment of explosives, and instead of explosive I had wanted I recieved grade B spike bombs. Spike bombs are explosives of some sort, on impact they would shoot out spikes in all directions, more useful for killing people, but not so much for destroying buildings. I knew time was short, so I had to improvise and hope that the rest of the shipments would be enough to take down the data center.

After meeting up in North Dakota we took a look at the blue prints of the data center that we were able to acquire through a contact of Ryvis’s. We felt that the center had relatively light security and that if we took it carefully, we would be able to complete this mission.

Suffice to say the mission went well, and we were able to destroy the data center, somewhat. The server that had the files was destroyed, but the entire center was not. Our main goal to clear the charges on the judge were fine though, so we were pleased. Now with the judge cleared of charges, we could finish the paperwork and get Misora to come back.

After clearing the paperwork in late December, Misora was able to return to the states, but his head was filled with thoughts of hot young Japanese girls and fansubbing was not much on his mind. StarFreeze puts it best when he says due to the lack of girls in the IRC channel, Misora really did not have the morale to continue fansubbing.

However by middle of January Misora was getting quite bored of not doing anything, so he contacted Ryvis, Kixor, Arcane, StarFreeze, me and other members that he wished for something to be done. The slackers we were, when not pressed for time we didn’t quite know what to do. We debated about completing some work that we had started, but we were unsure if that was where it would be best to put our time.

Anyhow in short that’s basically what’s been keeping us from fansubbing.

Or rather…you know what, it’s probably just better if ignore this entire update…
